a day

i watch the clouds pass by
there they are
high and silent in the sky
are they lonely?
driving on a cold morning
the road black and lifeless
rushing by mutely as we're soaring
through space and time.
working again in the day
things that mean nothing to me
wondering what you would say
if you were there.
home and i'm laying there dreaming
warm and alone in bed
wishing that you were there being
my everything.
this is how the day goes by,
i open my eyes and walk the same paths,
close them again and i
pray that love can exist...
in a world so mundane.
